Morston Quay is where most people leave the car and walk out. The times on this page are the Blakeney Harbour clock — the same high water the Blakeney Harbour Association prints for the Pit and the Bar. There is no extra creek offset for Morston.
That matters when you are timing a tender off the quay, or the walk to a mooring in the Pit. High water here is not Blakeney Quay. The quay up at the village is about fifteen minutes later, further up the Glaven.
On smaller tides there is simply less water in the Pit. The sailing window is the usable-light period around high water — about two hours either side, a little longer after high water on 5.5 m tides, and it runs to twilight if the tide is still in after sunset.
